Norlys has bought 60 percent of the IT company Automize in order to increase the group's digital impact and ultimately ensure a better customer experience. The ambition is for Automize to continue the company's growth journey.

In order to be even better equipped for future IT efforts, the energy and telecommunications group Norlys has bought 60 percent of the IT company Automize. With expertise in cloud solutions, the acquisition of Automize should give Norlys both faster and more secure IT operations. At the same time, Automize's ambition is to continue the company's massive growth.

- In order to continue the growth journey we have been on in recent years, we need a business partner who has both strong skills and high ambitions. At the same time, it has been important to us that it is a company that is firmly grounded in Danish roots, and we have found that in cooperative Norlys, which we already know as a customer, says René Falkenberg, CEO of Automize.

Norlys' purchase of Automize is a natural extension of the investment in Mjølner Informatics, which Norlys bought this summer. Mjølner gives Norlys a strong development muscle, while Automize ensures that Norlys can quickly and safely deliver and operate the many IT services that the various parts of the Norlys business demand.

Competences for major IT transformation

In order to ensure the best experience for customers, Norlys is currently in the middle of a major IT transformation and a thorough digitization of the group. This means, among other things, that Norlys must accelerate the company's cloud journey, and this requires a significant upgrade of both IT resources and skills.

- We look forward to an even closer collaboration with Automize. In a hot job market, attracting the IT resources and skills we need is an increasing challenge. With the acquisition of Automize, we gain access to specialized knowledge within the optimization and automation of operations using the cloud, says Morten Bilgrav, IT director at Norlys.

The current 40 employees in Automize will continue in the company, just as Automize will continue to have a strong focus on other current and future customers. In order to pool the IT skills, a number of employees from Norlys' IT department will continuously move to Automize after the New Year.
