The road towards creating a sustainable IT company and becoming more energy efficient, not only for our customers, but also for Automize itself, is often a long journey, filled with unforeseen problems. It was therefore a welcome change when Automize saw the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone! As a sustainable IT company, Automize has long worked on how the organization could best dispose of its own used hardware and that which Automize operates for customers and partners. Furthermore, it has long been a wish to be able to contribute to the society that has made it possible for Automize to exist, because without this there would be no basis for our existence.
The solution to this was simple and straightforward, Automize, in collaboration with DELPRO, has chosen to donate both companies' used hardware to the Red Cross, where it can serve a good purpose and extend its life considerably.
As Automize has grown since its infancy in 2015, Automize has simultaneously felt an increasing urge to do more for the world that has made our existence possible, based on sustainable IT.
It was therefore an obvious opportunity for Automize and DELPRO to donate their used hardware and thus extend its life while it goes to a good cause and can help people in need. Automize has already received a message from the Red Cross that the PCs have been put into use. The donation has been particularly well received by Ukrainian refugees who have fled at very short notice and under difficult conditions, and therefore most have only brought very few possessions with them to Denmark. Automize's and DELPRO's donation has therefore already created great joy and benefit among the residents of Red Cross centres, where the laptops are used in the teaching of both children and adults.
Although Automize has already taken measurable steps towards becoming a more sustainable IT company, we feel that we can do more. In order to provide a transparent overview, Automize plans to implement and use measurement tools so that our own and our customers' Co2 emissions are continuously measured on Microsoft's Cloud Infrastructure. This will make it easier to measure how much Co2 Automize emits. Automize also plans to make it possible for existing and potential customers to calculate their current Co2 consumption and see what savings for the environment it has/can bring to move their IT operation to the cloud and achieve the benefits of sustainable IT.
As a partner with Microsoft, Automize has already taken several steps towards reducing our Co2 footprint and that of many of our customers. We do this by only developing our own solutions in the Cloud, which are data centers managed by Microsoft. Microsoft has dedicated itself to focusing on sustainable IT and offers state-of-the-art security. Microsoft also has a goal of being Co2 neutral by 2030 and Co2 negative by 2050, this is expressed, among other things, by these aforementioned data centers, which must be run exclusively on green energy and use 90% less water for cooling than they use in day. As a partner with Microsoft, Automize is part of the solution, which many of our customers are also simply because we operate their IT and develop their IT solutions.
Automize remains dedicated to making a positive difference in our local communities and around the world wherever possible.
